The calculation is straightforward: first, divide the area by the coverage to get the liters needed for one coat. Multiply that by the number of coats. Then divide the total liters by the chosen can size and round up (ceiling function) to determine the number of cans. For example, for a 50 m² area, coverage of 10 m²/L, and 2 coats, you need 10 liters; with 3.6 L cans, you'll need 3 cans (rounded up from 2.78).

Remember to measure the area correctly (height x width of each wall, subtracting doors and windows) and check the coverage stated on the paint can.
