Venus's surface is dominated by an extremely acidic environment, with sulfuric acid clouds and temperatures hot enough to melt lead.

Venus, the second planet from the Sun, has the densest atmosphere among terrestrial planets, composed mainly of carbon dioxide with sulfuric acid clouds. Surface pressure is 92 times Earth's, equivalent to 900 meters ocean depth. Average temperature is 462°C, hot enough to melt lead and zinc.
Sulfuric acid in clouds precipitates as acid rain but evaporates before reaching the ground due to extreme heat. This acidity does not accumulate, but rocks are altered by chemical reactions with the atmosphere. The surface is dry, with vast volcanic plains, mountains, and tectonic features.
Data from Venera (USSR) and Magellan (NASA) missions revealed Venus has little or no water, and the absence of a global magnetic field allows solar wind to strip high atmosphere particles. Extreme acidity makes life as we know it impossible, but some research suggests microorganisms could exist in upper cloud layers where acidity is milder.
