Formula
área = π × (d/2)² | custo/cm² = preço / área
About this calculator
The Pizza Size Calculator helps you compare pizzas of different diameters to find the best deal. It calculates the total area in square centimeters, the number of slices (based on a standard slice size), and the cost per square centimeter. Simply enter the diameter, price, and desired slice size. The tool uses the circle area formula: π times the radius squared, where radius is half the diameter. Cost per cm² is total price divided by area.
When to use? Ideal for parties, events, or group orders. For example, compare a 35 cm pizza at R$ 40 with a 45 cm pizza at R$ 55 to see which gives more pizza for less money. Also useful to estimate slices per person: if each slice is 10 cm long, how many come from a large pizza? The calculator answers quickly.
Cautions: The slice count is an estimate based on pizza circumference; actual cuts may vary. Cost per cm² does not account for toppings or ingredient quality, only area. For rectangular pizzas, this calculator does not apply. Always use the actual diameter (edge to edge), not the packaging size.
Frequently asked questions
How to correctly measure the pizza diameter?
Measure from one edge to the opposite edge, passing through the center. Do not include the box, which may be larger.
Is the number of slices exact?
No, it is an estimate. The calculation uses the perimeter divided by slice size, but actual cuts may vary.
Does this calculator work for rectangular pizzas?
No, it is designed only for round pizzas. For rectangular ones, use a rectangle area calculator.
Why is cost per cm² important?
It allows fair comparison between pizzas of different sizes, ignoring total price and focusing on value per area.
Can I use it for other round foods?
Yes, such as pies, cakes, or quiches. Just adjust the slice size as needed.
