This Brazilian national holidays calculator allows you to quickly find out which holidays occur in any given year, considering both fixed and movable holidays. Fixed holidays are dates set in the calendar, such as January 1st (New Year's Day), April 21st (Tiradentes), and December 25th (Christmas). Movable holidays depend on the date of Easter, calculated using the Gaussian algorithm, and include Carnival, Good Friday, and Corpus Christi.

The tool works simply: you enter the desired year, and it lists all national holidays with their respective dates and weekdays. Easter is calculated using the Gaussian algorithm, which considers the lunar cycle and the spring equinox. From Easter, Carnival (47 days before), Good Friday (2 days before), and Corpus Christi (60 days after) are determined. Fixed holidays are automatically added, totaling 12 fixed dates and 4 movable ones.

When to use? Ideal for planning vacations, extended breaks, organizing events, or simply knowing when the next holidays will be. Useful for professionals who need to calculate deadlines or work schedules considering non-working days. For example, when planning a trip, you can check if Carnival or Christmas falls on a weekend to maximize your days off.

Cautions: the calculator considers only Brazilian national holidays, not including state or municipal holidays. Additionally, holidays like Labor Day (May 1st) and Proclamation of the Republic (November 15th) are fixed but may be moved to Monday in some years according to legislation. The tool does not automatically adjust for these possible changes; therefore, check current legislation for confirmation.
