About this calculator

This calculator estimates the amount of texture required to coat walls in construction projects. By entering the total area of the surface to be treated, the system calculates how many liters of material you need to purchase, helping to plan buying and avoid waste.

The calculation is based on the coverage ratio of 1 liter of texture for 3 square meters. The formula applied is: liters needed = total area (m²) ÷ 3. The result is rounded up to ensure you have enough material to cover the entire surface.

Use this tool when planning the application of texture on interior and exterior walls, in residential or commercial work. It is especially useful before buying the product, when you know the application area, the type of texture and the wall material.

Keep in mind that coverage rates may vary depending on wall porosity, desired thickness and application method. Always clean and level the wall before applying texture, and consider reserving an extra 10% to 15% for touch‑ups and losses during the process.

Frequently asked questions

Does the calculated amount include waste during application?

No, the calculator uses the nominal coverage of 1 L = 3 m². It is advisable to add 10% to 15% extra for losses and touch‑ups.

Can I use this formula for exterior walls?

Yes, provided the texture used has the same coverage rate. Exterior walls require extra attention to surface preparation and sealing.

What if the texture has a different coverage rate?

Simply adjust the divisor in the formula: liters needed = total area ÷ the texture’s specific coverage. The calculator does not auto‑adjust for brand variations.

What is the best way to measure wall area?

Measure height and width of each section, multiply to get square meters, and sum all sections. Exclude windows and doors.

Is wall preparation necessary before calculating the amount?

Preparation does not change the calculated quantity but affects actual coverage. Clean, level, and if needed, apply a primer for better adhesion.
