A fascinating fact: the first exoplanet discovered orbiting a Sun-like star, 51 Pegasi b, was a hot gas giant, very different from Earth. Only with technological advances could smaller rocky planets be detected. Today, missions like TESS and PLATO continue scanning the sky, expanding our catalog of “exo-Earth” candidates and bringing us closer to answering whether we are alone in the universe.
